Did you guys get everything you needed from the NSale? It ended yesterday!
Now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is over, let’s get back to transitional pieces!! I am now on the hunt for items I can wear this Summer and then transition into the Fall.
I have been sooo busy lately! Sleep is something I desperately need to catch up on! August has been so crazy for me! Nordstrom probably loves me, because I am constantly shopping, trying to find the perfect pieces to wear for each event. I love having ONE DRESS that you can wear to at least three different places.
I teamed up with Nordstrom this week to show you three different events you can wear this gorgeous, black lace slip dress to!! The best part: it is under $50, and is seriously flattering on all body types!!!
Here are three places to wear a black slip dress:
Wear it on a date. (1)
If you really want to shock him, show up to your next date in this black slip dress! I came home from shooting this dress and still happened to be wearing it. My boyfriend immediately commented on how ‘hot’ I looked. Romantic, I know ;).
Whether you have been together forever, or it is a first date, you are sure to turn some heads in this dress! I don’t know about you, but I think it is really nice to be admired every now and then and nothing is sexier than a little black lace dress!
My idea of a great date night would be to be surprised and be taken to a restaurant that I had never been to before! It would even be nice to even be taken to a movie without having to buy the tickets before!! Troy and I do go on a lot of date nights, but we usually aren’t alone! Maybe we can have a romantic night out if I tell him I will wear this dress….
Troy and I usually do dinner and a movie, but I haven’t really seen any trailers that have interested me. Have you seen a good movie lately?
Wear it to brunch with friends. (2)
Brunch isn’t the only place you can wear this relaxed outfit too. I love the idea of wearing it to a bbq, to run errands, to the park, etc. Any outdoor activity would be perfect for this look.
This black slip dress isn’t super heavy. If you are going to be indoors, or if you plan on wearing it into the fall (like I do), then make sure you have a jacket or sweater to wear with it! You can also wear a cardigan over the dress or around your waist. Or just throw on a V neck sweater over the dress (super cute). The possibilities are seriously endless!
Since the dress isn’t super heavy, it is actually really comfortable and flowy. This makes it perfect for any outing. Wear sneakers and run around in if you want!!
Brunch came to my mind first, because I brunch A LOT! This outfit would be so stinkin’ cute for any brunch spot. Next time I am going to throw a baseball cap on with it to make it even more casual.
My favorite place to brunch here in Dallas is the Rustic! I love the atmosphere, the live music, and the family brunch style. They serve the table, not the individual. If you are with five people, you get a huge brunch with enough stuff to fill five people!! I never leave that place hungry!
Wear it to a concert. (3)
I love music, and I love going to concerts! I am actually headed to one this Friday. Have you heard of Josh Abbott Band? I am kind of obsessed with his latest cd and haven’t heard it live yet so I am super excited!
Give this black slip dress an edgy look by adding some funky sunglasses and a little leather. I would also add a choker, but I couldn’t find mine in time for this shoot :(.
These leather booties will be perfect in the fall with any dress! I love how tall they are! For more leather, tie a leather jacket around your waist, wear it, or just hang it over your shoulder for the super ‘cool’ look!
I love being a little edgy every once in awhile ;).
These are just three places to wear a black slip dress, but you can probably think of about a million more! For only $49, this lace dress is seriously a steal!!
Head to Nordstrom now to grab this dress and all of the accessories you see in this post! They are definitely your one-stop-shop for all of your Summer/Fall transitional needs!!
