Happy Fourth of July (almost). Who all took off work today? If you can read through to the end of this post you will find a huge round up of Fourth of July sales and all of my favorites from each store!

I am actually out in East Texas for the week spending time with my family out on the lake.

Why is it so incredibly hot here in Texas right now? The weather was so gorgeous in Canada. It would be warm during the day and cool at night.

Our Trip to Canada

We arrived in Canada on Thursday and we had a bit of mess to go through at the airport.

You know when the airplane is full so the flight crew asks for you to check your luggage at the gate? Well my parents ended up checking their carry on luggage at the gate and guess what? They didn’t even arrive!! Apparently the cargo ended up being full so they had to pull bags off the plane. Since my parents were the last to give up their bags, theirs got yanked first. Just keep this in mind next time you think of checking your luggage at the gate!

Then, when we were waiting for that to be resolved and get the missing luggage back to us, we accidentally left an entire cart of luggage in the baggage claim area. Customs wouldn’t let us go back in and get it, so the entire thing had to be reprocessed. That took another hour.

After that, we went to grab the rental car only to be told we had to have something showing we were insured in Canada. Our insurance companies confirmed, but they said they had nothing to send that would show it. After an hour of this back and forth it was finally resolved and we got to drive out of there.

None of this would have mattered if I didn’t have to drop my wedding dress of THAT AFTERNOON before the dry cleaners closed. After three hours at the airport we barely made it. We had eight minutes to spare.

Thursday Night

First, we checked into our condo. We rented a place from Tripadvisor and it ended up being the coolest place we could have ever imagined. It has three bedrooms, two baths, and a murphy bed in the living room. It comes with a fully stocked kitchen and a fireplace. The best thing about it was the huge terrace we had overlooking the mountains. When we weren’t scrambling around doing wedding stuff, we spent our time out there! See the listing HERE and save it in case you are planning on heading out to Banff/Canmore soon.

We met up with both of our families for dinner on Thursday night. I wore this gorgeous green off the shoulder dress. It is still available in an XS and a S. I am wearing a Small here. I love the print so much that I just bought this green jumpsuit in the same print! It is gorgeous!

We ate at Tavern 1883 in Canmore. We actually ended up eating there twice during this trip, but we will get to that later! The food is delicious there and they usually have a DJ or band come in around 10pm each night.

Check back tomorrow for more on my wedding weekend!
