I am so sorry guys! I did not even realize I completely skipped 7 months! Lately, her 7 month and 8 month updates are VERY similar.
What’s New With Miller
-I started using formula around 6 1/2 months and the transition went SO SMOOTHLY! We use Enfamil Enspire (it is Enfamil’s most-like-breastmilk formula) and we never looked back. She is thriving and growing and really started chunking up (in a good way!) She was a little too thin before when she was just drinking breastmilk. It just didn’t have enough fats in it.
With the Enfamil she does not spit up at all (like she did on my breastmilk!) We use Dr. Brown’s bottles, nipple size 3- we changed to 3 at 6 months and will move to 4 at 9 months. We still use the green tubing in the bottles. She just seems to have less trouble drinking it and a lot less burping with those pieces. I think my sister stopped using the green pieces at 6 months so you could definitely try to remove them and see how your baby reacts! Fewer items to wash!
We save money with the Enfamil Enspire by just buying the refill boxes. You can get 2 15 oz refills for $54 at Target or you can save $20 by buying 4 packs of those refills directly from Enfamil. Also- be careful buying Dr. Brown’s bottles on Amazon. I got some that said Dr. Brown’s but they weren’t really!! Oh, and you can stop sanitizing the bottles at 6 months as well!
-She cut her bottom two teeth and was drooling non-stop. We had to have a drool bib on her daily or she would soak her clothes. I will link our favorites below. At the same time as the teething, she also got a UTI :(. We didn’t catch it for at least a week since we thought it was teething. We originally took her to urgent care while we were out of town for her fever and they told us she just had a cold basically (never checked her urine!) Then we took her back to urgent care when we suspected it could be a UTI.
How we caught the UTI: The smell of her urine was super strong and she left a small green discharge in each diaper. They tested her at urgent care and it came back that it was a UTI so she got on antibiotics. If your baby has a fever for a week it is NOT teething! Push for more testing!
She is now cutting one of her top teeth! Here are teething toys she loves:
-Recently we suspected another UTI and I saw white spots in her mouth so we took her into the dr for a checkup. She did have thrush, which is basically a baby yeast infection (look for a white tongue and white spots on their cheeks and bottom of her tongue, but she did not have another UTI woohoo!!! She is now on Nystatin for the thrush and it is pretty much gone. It is super common for babies to get thrush from antibiotics.
-She has not started crawling yet but is so so so close. I am afraid she will do it this week while we are out of town. The dr told us it would take her a little longer with her 95th % head, haha, and we aren’t worried about it at all. She will do it when she is ready! She also can’t go from laying down to sitting up yet and she hasn’t pulled up on anything on her own. Again, not worried at all! She will get there.
-We noticed she is kind of a scaredy-cat haha. The weirdest things scare her. My sister got her phone wet so she blew on the bottom of it and it really set Miller off. My sister then, two days later, forgot about it and did it again and Miller went ballistic again! So weird. My dad also put his had on Miller’s head and she liked it until the bill covered her eyes and she went crazy! She wears hats and sunglasses all the time so we thought it was so weird that it scared her when her eyes were covered with the hat.
-She has said mama and dada, but then kind of stopped. She still says dada sometimes but we haven’t heard mama in about a month! So weird! She does a lot of baby squealing, screaming, and what we call her zombie growl. She also loves to click her tongue and blow raspberries.
-She loves music and she dances with her entire body when one of her songs come on. It is so cute! We try to play music for her all the time. This toy was the BEST investment, she still uses it daily:
-She loves playing patty cake, when we sing Old McDonald or baby shark, and she LOVES to read. Here are some of her favorite books! She loves anything interactive.
-She has finally taken to a lovey. This is the one she has, it was given to us as a gift. We keep it in the crib and every nap after she is in her sleepsack we pick it up and give it a bunch of kisses and she just dies. She loves it. We giggles and giggles. Then we have it give her a couple of kisses and then we hand it to her. She squeals and talks to it for about 5 minutes and then goes to bed. We gave it to her on a two hour road trip and she just held it and talked to it the whole way there. So sweet.
-She loves to swing! We take her to the park whenever we can. She just loves being outside period. She loves going on walks and swimming in the pool.
-She is the SWEETEST baby. We really just can’t get enough of her. Of course she has her days like most babies, but she really is just so sweet and smiley. My mom calls her smiley.
-We started dressing her daily and I wish I had started sooner. I just love getting a lot of use out of her cute baby outfits and she is just the cutest in a bow!
Miller’s Schedule
She is starting to stay awake longer and then take longer naps. It is about every two hours now that she will go down and then she will sleep at least two hours! She is still sleeping 12 hours every night, too! We are so lucky.
Food
She drinks 7-8 ounces 4x a day or 6oz 5x a day depending on her nap schedule that day. We also feed her solids. Right now she is eating a lot of bananas and yogurt to help with the thrush, but I also try to feed her what we are eating every dinner as well or when we go out to eat. We JUST started putting her in a high chair and she is slowly starting to be able to pick the food up with her fingers and eat it. Here is the hair chair we have and LOVE:
Travel
We love traveling with her but the airport/airplane is always cause for some anxiety. We never know how she will be on the plane and it is hard to get her to go to sleep. She isn’t the kind of baby to just fall asleep anywhere when she is tired. If she isn’t in her crib she will cry and cry.
We use a dockatot right now and it works 50% of the time. The other 50% we just have to keep her entertained the entire time. We walk up and down the aisles or give her toys or snacks. Here are some things I 100% recommend for traveling:

What do you look for when searching for a hotel when traveling with a baby. Example kitchenette? Where does Miller sleep when traveling?

What a pretty, happy baby!
How often do you sterilize bottles before they’re 6 mo old?!
Miller is adorable! I would love to read a blog or more about feeding.
I love hearing about Miller! Just love you guys! Glad she is doing so awesome❤️❤️❤️
Miller is such a cutie! I love following along for her updates and my daughter is a month younger so she gives me a good idea of what’s to come!! I think you mentioned in the past that she had some eczema on her face. My daughter does as well, I think from food/drooling/moisture from southern heat! What did you do to help this? Is it totally gone now?! I love this outfit in the cover photo.. and that bow!!!! 🙂
Thank you!!!
Is she doing 2 or 3 naps a day?? Thanks for the post!
Hi! Can you talk more about schedule and bedtime? Does she go down for a 3rd nap? Thanks!
