Sorry I made you guys wait so long for a recap of our second week here in Maui!
Make sure you read the re-cap for week one HERE.
For week two we kind of just chilled out and tried to enjoy the beach, sun, and each other.
FRIDAY:
On Friday we checked in to the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua for a night! See the full review of our stay HERE!
SATURDAY:
Spent the entire day at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. See the review HERE.
SUNDAY:
Camo Leggings I Tennis Shoes I Black Tank I Earbuds
On Sunday we explored the town of Lahaina. I am not sure if it is a specific weekend or day, but there was a farmer’s market happening under the massive banyan tree in the middle of the town. The banyan tree is something you HAVE TO SEE! Such a beautiful tree!
We went for a jog along the down and finished at the harbor (where we got the shot above!) I then changed into a top and some shorts and we went to a couple of sports bars to watch football playoffs.
White Peplum Top I Jean Shorts I Cult Gaia Handbag I Cognac Espadrilles I Sunglasses
We started at Dirty Monkey. It was a great local spot but they didn’t have any backs on their chairs so it was hard to sit there for a long time. We watched the last game at Captain Jack. Another super fun bar with really good coconut shrimp!
PS- Troy and I bet on both NFL games on Sunday and won both!! Woohoo! Putting it all on Patriots for Superbowl. We don’t want the Patriots to win butttt :/.
MONDAY:
Palm Print Dress I Cult Gaia Handbag I Miller Sandals I Lisi Lerch Earrings
On Monday we relaxed by the pool at Kaanapali Beach Club and then went back to Whalers Village to shop and check out Hula Grill.
If you are choosing between Monkey Pod and Hula Grill in Whaler’s Village I would definitely choose Monkeypod! Hula Grill was cute and right on the beach and the wait staff was amazing, but Monkeypod is just better all around.
Apparently Hula Grill has a Barefoot Bar that has live music. I definitely want to go back to be on that side of the restaurant!
TUESDAY:
Purple Sweater I White Jean Shorts I Beach Bag (sold out, similar HERE) I White Earrings I Pink Tennis Shoes
It rained a lot on Tuesday morning. We made it out around noon and walked the beach a bit. This was the first day of rain we had!
Black Jersey Jumpsuit I Black Gucci Sandals I Black Cult Gaia Bag I Sequin Earrings
At night we headed to Kapalua to check out Sansei. Honestly, I have had better sushi in Dallas. It was really good, don’t get me wrong, but not sure if it lived up to the hype. Tip: The restaurant opens at 5:15 (says 5:30 online but they always open early.) If you order between 5:30-6 you get a discount on your meal!
We actually had better sushi this week! I will let you know where on our next re-cap!
WEDNESDAY:
On Wednesday we went back to the Ritz-Carlton to do a whale watching excursion. Read all about that HERE. It was so amazing!!
White Tee I Jean Shorts I Miller Sandals I Clear Sunglasses
We then stopped in Lahaina on the way back and ate at Monkeypod… again. We are seriously obsessed! Their Ahi Tuna Steak, Potstickers, and Mai Tais are all to die for.
THURSDAY:
Maxi Dress I Miller Sandals I Cult Gaia Handbag
On Thursday we explored the super cute surf town of Paia. We first stopped at Mama’s Fish House for lunch. It was everything you guys said it would be. It is super expensive but worth EVERY PENNY! I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Maui.
Troy and I split the stuffed fish of the day (stuffed with crab and lobster) and the fish curry. Both were way too amazing to describe!
Then we went to Paia, watched some surfing, and waited for the sunset. The town is so cute but there really isn’t much to do. I don’t know if I would recommend it if you aren’t staying in Maui for long. If you are, it is worth a quick visit on your way to Hana!
See my next re-cap next Tuesday! So many fun things coming up!
xoxo Amanda
