Corduroy is STILL in style. Does that shock you? It doesn’t surprise me at all. Corduroy is a timeless fabric that should be in everyone’s closet.
Corduroy came about in the late 18th century and has stuck around since. It comes back every fall, year after year.
Why I Love Corduroy:
-It is super durable. When I buy corduroy I know it will last, so I look for classic pieces I can wear every year.
-It has a velvety texture to it, making the colors super rich -looking. This makes it perfect for Fall and Winter on all ages.
-It is eye-catching. I am not sure if it is the richness of the fabric or just the vintage look to it, but I always find myself doing double takes when I spy people wearing corduroy.
-It is really comfortable. I have never met something made with corduroy that I didn’t love on. Plus, the velvety texture of the fabric makes it really soft.

My favorite store as of late has been American Eagle. I walked in there the other day and found SO MANY cute corduroy pieces, including these gorgeous emerald corduroy pinafore dress and the brown pinafore dress below that will go with everything.
Luckily for all of us, you can always find amazing deals at A&E. These two corduroy pinafore dresses are both under $35!
I thought it would be fun to pair some cute fall sweaters under each, but I am sure you probably have a couple tops in your closet that would also look great under them. They could also be styled without anything under them in the summertime.
If you don’t have corduroy in your closet yet, definitely grab a piece today to try out. I think you will love this fabric as much as I do! You can scroll to the bottom to see more pieces I am loving! A corduroy pinafore dress is something super easy for you to style, so you could always start there!
