I am currently in Winter Park, CO as I am writing this. It is day 2 here and we had the most amazing day (snow and all!)

Many of you know by now that we are planning on moving to Colorado in the Summer. My family doesn’t think I will like it. Granted, that is totally fair for them to say. I am a Texas girl through and through. I have never lived in super cold winters and I have never had to deal with snow and ice (except for the occasional 1 day snow day we get in Dallas every five years!) It doesn’t even stick to the ground though!

I think I know in my heart that if we move to Colorado we are never going back. I just feel so at home here. This is my happy place. I just feel called to live here.

Find Your Backcountry

Do you have a place where you feel called to be? That might be where you live now, it may be a beach destination you visit frequently, or it could be a cool mountain spot. I think you know in your heart what I am talking about.

If not, this is your challenge to find your backcountry. Go outside and explore and find what makes your heart sing. It is out there guys.

I would have never felt this Colorado calling if I had not explored this area beforehand. The very first time I visited I knew there was something special about this place.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Texas. But where you grew up isn’t always where you are meant to be. There is a huge world out there to explore.

Throughout the last six months, I have explored outdoor trails in my own neck of the woods, I trekked across New England, I went hiking in Utah, and I discovered how much I love Colorado. In all of these situations, I was wearing Backcountry.

Backcountry is the first place I look at for all of me AND TROY’S outdoor needs. In fact, all of his ski gear (head to toe) for this Winter Park trip is from Backcountry. I am familiar and comfortable with all of the brands on there and I know everything I buy will be amazing quality and will last me forever.

Hot- check. Backcountry has so many swimsuits, cover-ups, and other summer styles for your outdoor beach needs.

Cold-check. Everything I am wearing above is from Backcountry. They have ski and cold weather gear GALORE.

In Between- check check! They seriously have everything you need for every season.

When you head out to find your spot, check out Backcountry. They will gear you up no matter where you are heading.

My Outfit

Canada Goose Parka– I finally splurged on this jacket. I knew I was moving to CO soon and that I would need a super warm winter jacket. Instead of buying different jackets throughout the years, I thought I would splurge on one really nice one to last me forever. I am so in love with it. It is keeping me soooo warm here in Winter Park!

Stoic Fleece Lined Leggings– Do not go to CO in the wintertime without fleece-lined leggings! You can wear them alone or underneath jeans to keep you extra warm!

Sorel Boots– I think this is now my third pair of shoes from Sorel. I am a fan for LIFE. They are all so comfortable. These fur-lined boots keep my feet so insanely warm and handle the snow and ice so extremely well.

Pendleton Socks– Bring tall socks with you on your ski trip. These have a super cute print.

We the Free Henley– Just because it is cute!

Ugg Pom Beanie– love this cable knit beanie and even though it isn’t fleece lined it kept my ears very warm!

Arc’teryx Gloves– These work great by themselves or under thicker ski gloves.
