    Amanda,

I love that chambray pencil skirt, the bow detail is so cute! Taking your advice I looked at the wide leg pants too…so chic! I could see the pants paired with a cold shoulder top and mules or maybe block heel sandals?

Who else has jumped on the cold shoulder train?

I actually like cold shoulder tops more than off-the-shoulder because you can wear them to work and you can wear a regular bra under them… win win!

Now that work environments are a little more casual and a little more accepting, I am seeing more and more cold shoulder tops in the office. I came from a business casual work environment and always tested the boundaries of what the office considered appropriate. Towards the end, I was even wearing lace-up sandals- such a rebel. I know for a fact that I wore tons of cold shoulder tops during my time in finance.

Give Them the Cold Shoulder

The two cold shoulder tops I am wearing in the photos above are perfect for work or play. I feel like I say that a lot, but it is so important to me for work clothes to be versatile, since most of the time they are a little more expensive.

You know that I also always like to be able to mix and match my outfits (see this post for reference). You can definitely wear the marigold top with this linen skirt and the striped cold shoulder top would look so cute with the navy striped skirt! It is nice to be able to buy two tops and two bottoms and get four looks out of them.

These tops also look as equally cute with denim as they do with these skirts if you wanted to make them more casual.

The quality of the shirts is top notch (everything from Ann Taylor is) and they are super comfortable to wear.

This top incorporates both trends in one: the cold shoulder trend and the bell-sleeve trend! I love the way the sleeve kind of puffs out at the bottom.

Try it out and give them the cold shoulder at work this week!

PS- This post will take the place of my regular Work Wear Wednesday post. On Wednesday I have a great wedding post planned that you won’t want to miss!
