I don’t know about you, but for me – there’s truly nothing better than a cozy home and kitchen during the fall season. I love all of the festivities that come with the crisp fall air…Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. It is hands down my favorite time of the year.
Lots and lots of cooking and baking happens in the kitchen this time of year. That’s why I call it the heart of our home! Walmart helps me prepare ahead of time with ease no matter what we have planned. From hosting parties and holidays to chaotic mornings with the kids, our home is always ready for guests thanks to Walmart’s everyday low prices and deals.
Decorating a Rusticity Home on a Budget
When it comes to creating cozy humble abode, you don’t have to break the bank. Walmart’s low prices and huge selection simplifies the decorating process so much! I personally wanted to give our kitchen a more cozy, homey feel, so I added some wood items to the mix for a more rustic vibe. By embracing rusticity, I created a kitchen ready for anything that comes my way this season.
SAVING SPACE IN THE KITCHEN
Though the holidays bring so much joy and laughter, they also bring a good amount of craziness to the table as you can probably relate! The more space I can create in my home and kitchen before hosting, the better. Since our ovens get a little crowded and overwhelmed during the holidays, having an air fryer is a game changer. It’s the easiest way to get meals prepared quickly for kids and guests! I love this air fryer.I’m even excited to try a few Thanksgiving recipes in our air fryer this year.
Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes
Big congrats to Bree Whorton for winning the air fryer recipe competition I did on Instagram!
Here is the recipe for her amazing Air Fryer Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk, divided
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (if you need to add more flour to make this dough up, make sure to also add more pumpkin spice seasoning and more sugar)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions:
Step 1:
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together butter and brown sugar. Add egg, vanilla, 1/4 cup milk, and pumpkin puree. Mix until combined, then stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda salt and pumpkin pie spice.
Mix until a dough forms, then use a 1 1/2″ scoop to drop dough into balls.
Spray air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and head to 350. Add the donut holes in a single layer and cook for 9-11 min, until golden. Repeat with remaining donut holes.
Meanwhile, to make glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk and cinnamon. Once donut holes are cool, dip in to serve.
