Happy Work Wear Wednesday guys!
We are now in Q4, which is the busiest time of the year for me!
In case you didn’t know, I work full-time as a Treasury Analyst. Most of you did know that already, but have no idea what a Treasury Analyst even is! I didn’t even know what it was until a month into the job, haha!
What is a Treasury Analyst?
As a treasury analyst, I manage all the cash and debt of the company. When I got the job, I was in way over my head. Little by little I learned and now am completely comfortable and couldn’t imagine doing anything else in Finance.
Basically, if a check bounces, if one of our account is overdrawn, if we can pay our bills, it is my fault. It means I wasn’t managing cash accurately. Pretty scary when you think about it.
Every morning I check balances and record the daily cash activity and send it out to the Finance team so everyone knows what we have to work with. Throughout the day I release wires, deposit checks, deal with credit applications, and manage our debt. If we need to borrow money from the bank, or repay a borrowing, that’s all me!
I also used to be in charge of cash flow forecasting. We would forecast what would happen for the month to ensure we would have enough cash for those big payment days. Recently we moved someone over from the IR department to relieve me of some of these treasury functions since it has gotten pretty busy for me!
It is pretty crazy to think of what I deal with day to day, and what all I am responsible for. It is definitely a completely different function from my other job (The Miller Affect). I like to think of the blog as my creative outlet. It is truly what I am passionate about, but love my job as a treasury analyst as well!
At work, we have to dress in business professional attire. This means dresses, skirts, and pant suits. I mostly stick to the dresses and skirts, but am so comfortable in pants as well! On Fridays we get to be business casual (think jeans and heels).
I love finding new skirts, especially holiday skirts. I call this a holiday skirt because it has a super pretty sheen to it and I love the dark teal and burgundy colors! You could pull this out for work OR for a holiday party!
Holiday skirts typically start coming out late October and November, and are so fun for work!
You can get this holiday skirt and the rest of the outfit below!
