LOVE this look! The lace skirt adds a fashion-forward touch, while still keeping it business appropriate!

This looks fantastic. I really like the tidge of color in your earrings. They say “creative” to me, yet still sophisticated! jodie

I don’t know about you, but I am horrible at networking. There is something so hard about walking around and talking about yourself. I have never been good at it. I carry my business cards with me everywhere I go, but have maybe only given out 100 since I started my blog. I may not be good at the concept, but I definitely know how to dress to impress.

I had a few events last week and I spent so long trying to figure out what to wear. I now have a plan in place to remedy those kinds of situations (because ain’t nobody got time for that)! I put all of my business casual clothes in one spot in my closet so that I can just grab from there when I need to. I wear jeans and tee shirts to work, so I actually have to change into something more professional looking when I head to events. I love putting black and white together, but you always need an eye catching color to add some fun to the outfit. I grabbed some of my favorite tassel earrings to tie the look together. These earrings are on wait list but you can still sign up to get the email when they come back.

What to wear:

Bottoms: Wear a pencil skirt or dress pants. Full skirts are fun, but aren’t very professional and people are less likely to take you seriously. Also make sure your dress pants and skirt aren’t too tight and that the slit isn’t too high in the back.

Tops: I always like crisp and clean tops like this white one. You can also wear something chiffon or sheer as long as it isn’t sleeveless and as long as you have an appropriate undershirt on. I like three quarter sleeves most, but you can always throw on a blazer over your sleeveless tops.

Shoes: I always love going with closed toe heels (even in the summer) but some nice heeled sandals would work as long as they are professional looking (make sure they don’t have too many straps and don’t lace up).

Jewelry: For a professional event, so very minimal and clean. If you are going to a networking event that involves your blog, fashion, beauty, etc, then wear something fun with a pop of color like these earrings, but I would never do something too gaudy.

My Outfit:

Top: LOFT

Bottom: Chicwish (on sale! If you are in between sizes, go one size down)

Purse: Kate Spade (old, similar HERE)

Earrings: Baublebar (join the waitlist and they will email you directly or get THESE similar earrings)

Shoes: Sole Society (almost sold out, try THESE)

Bracelet: Henri Bendel
