I love this sweet story! Someday (in the NOT near future lol), my husband and I would love to adopt. I’m always amazed at people who have the strength to foster, it’s such a necessary job but I’m not sure I would be strong enough to be able to say goodbye. Bravo to your sister and brother in law!

I love how sweet your family’s foster story is…a few years ago, my cousin and his wife started fostering children, and they ended up adopting a little girl, and she is the perfect fit into their family, and means the world to them. My best wishes for you and your family!

You look beautiful Amanda! I just loved reading this and it brought tears to my eyes. It takes very special people to foster children so I commend them for all that they are doing and for all that they are giving of themselves. Thanks for sharing!

you are adorable- that skirt is so cute and I love that this was shot at the golden hour. I bought those shoes from the Nsale and can’t wait for them to get in!!
that is so sweet of them to foster- it is hard at times and is even worse when they have to move on, but from those I’ve known to do it, they have reaped such special rewards!!

Choies white checkered skirt

Did everyone have a good weekend? I went home and spent some quality time with family. My sister and brother-in-law just became brand new foster parents a couple of weeks ago, so I have been trying to spend time with baby T (their new 18 month old child) as much as I can.

I think we were all a little annoyed at my sister when they first told us of their plans to foster. We know that she usually has these whims or thinks of things she wants and a week late they have found a way to get it. We thought this plan to foster was one of those whims. We were very skeptical. How would they afford it, how long had they really thought on this? After seeing her with baby T last weekend, I completely changed my mindset.

This little boy looked so happy and smiled and giggled all day. She said the first few days they wouldn’t get any smiles and he wouldn’t talk to them at all! She bought him a little kitchen set and he was having the time of his life. He would just run up to her and melt in her arms and give her big kisses. I teared up once every ten minutes just seeing them together. They don’t know how long they will have him, but that little boy is going to be loved the few months he is with them.

This weekend we got to hear them sing to him to bed and read him stories out of their children’s bible. Every time before he ate they would pray with him. I just can’t even tell you how proud I am of both of them! They are fostering to adopt, so this is just the first child of many that will be blessed to be a part of their home.

They don’t know how long they will have each child, and every departure will be difficult as they have already grown attached in just a couple of weeks. I would love if you could all pray for my sister and brother-in-law! If you are thinking of fostering, or have been foster parents before, I would love to hear what you have to say! Please leave a comment!

This weekend we did a little picnic one day, so I thought a ‘what to wear to a picnic’ outfit would be cute! I love this outfit because the blouse protects you from too much sun but it really light-weight so it isn’t too hot! These are my new shoes from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and there are only a few sizes left so hurry and check it out!
