The Second Day of Our Wedding Weekend
Saturday Morning

Destination weddings are fun, but tough. You have to try to make sure you have some activities to keep everyone busy.
On Saturday morning we shuttled everyone out to Lake Moraine. Saying that it was a trip of a lifetime wouldn’t even be sufficient. The lake was insanely beautiful and being out on it changed our view of the world (dramatic, but true!)
We hiked up some rocks to get a good view of the lake while we waited for everyone to gather together. I really wish Troy and I could have had our ‘first look’ here as well but the lake was crazy busy. I definitely recommend getting there before 9am so that you can find a parking spot. Oh and PS- the lake starts to unfreeze at the beginning of June, so I would wait until at least the third week so you can see this gorgeous water for yourself.
Once everyone was there we went for a short walk around the lake. When we saw the canoes it was game over. It was a little expensive but we thought ‘heck, this is our wedding weekend.’ Thank goodness we decided to do it! Seriously one of the top 5 experiences of our life. You will be able to see more of what we saw when our wedding video comes out. Our videographer actually got in a canoe behind us and filmed the entire thing!
The Outfit
Northface Jacket (33% off right now!)
Tennis Shoes (sold out, but similar here)
Saturday Night
On Saturday night we had a welcome party for all of our guests. Our wedding wasn’t until Monday night, so we had a lot of people come in late Friday or Saturday morning. I didn’t even think Canmore would be that crazy, but little did we know before booking our wedding that this year Canada is celebrating their 150th Anniversary and July 1 was actually Canada Day. Our wedding was on June 26th but needless to say it was crazy crowded!
It turns out the place we were originally going to hold the welcome party at got overbooked and couldn’t host us. We ended up having the party at the house we were staying at instead (very last minute). It had a gorgeous terrace and plenty of room for everyone. We just sent my dad to the grocery store for light bites and my brother in law to grab the alcohol! It turned out so great!!
I definitely recommend having a welcome party. It is a great time to say hi to all of your guests and it is also a perfect time for them to meet each other.
I wore this gorgeous green dress and got so many compliments. It is so unique. I definitely recommend sizing up!
The Outfit
Camel Suede Sandals (on sale)
Camel Suede Crossbody Bag (sold out, but love this one)
