I started following you a few months ago. You have quickly become my favorite blogger. I love your style and how you always mix in pieces that are affordable while looking like it’s expensive (for me, the perfect mix – affordable AND looks expensive!). I also work full time so I always admire how you can look so amazing, maintain a fabulous blog/social media feed and work!

Congrats on your engagement!!! I used to live Las Vegas a few years ago so it was great to see the pics! You’ve probably already checked out this site, but it’s my favorite for all things wedding inspirational and aspirational – StyleMePretty.

Hi friends!

This post will be nice and short (struggle city over here from an early flight home from Vegas)!

I just wanted to share a few outfits from Vegas, and of course the engagement story below! I will have a much longer post in the next couple of months talking about the engagement, Troy, and our relationship thus far!

I am just so extremely happy and I want to say thank you so much for all of your super sweet comments on Instagram! I read every last one and each brought a smile to my face!

Burgundy Top I White Distressed Jeans I Grey Boots I Grey Handbag I Blanket Scarf I Bric’s Suitcase I White Tassel Earrings

This was my outfit for the airport trip to Vegas! I wanted to be comfortable and warm! These boots always keep my feet nice and toasty and the blanket scarf on my suitcase is one of my favs! I wear it as a scarf or I can use it as a blanket on the flight!

Dress I Leather Jacket I Tory Burch Handbag I Adidas Sneakers I Lipstick (DIVA)

This is the outfit I was engaged in (to see story, scroll all the way down)!!! It is only $25 and so comfy! I love the ruffled hem and you can wear the leather jacket on or if you get hot just tie it around your waist! I also knew we would be doing a lot of walking so I just threw on these super cute sneakers!

Sweater I Distressed Jeans (under $50) I Slouchy Boots I Burgundy Handbag

We walked to a couple hotels on Friday since Troy has never seen The Strip! We still have many to go! I wore this super soft marled sweater. It is sticked with tons of colors including olive, burgundy, ivory, etc. I also JUST recently got these boots in and I am so obsessed! They have a 4″ heel which is tall for me, but they are surprisingly super comfortable! Definitely a MUST this fall!

Sweater I Leggings I Over the knee boots (less expensive here) I Tory Burch Handbag I Pom Keychain I Lipstick (DIVA)

Wore this comfy outfit for dinner one night! We just grabbed some Mexican food so I didn’t want to get dressed up too much but definitely still wanted to look cute! This cable knit is the best and can be worn with jeans or leather leggings too!

Black Satin Dress I Black Heels (another option here) I Leopard Clutch I Lipstick (Perfect Score)

How pretty is this satin off-the-shoulder dress? It feels so great on too! We went to a nice steak house one night to celebrate our friend’s 10th wedding anniversary so I grabbed this little number for the occasion. It is under $100 and a perfect holiday dress for any events you have coming up!

SweaterDistressed Jeans (under $50) I Slouchy Boots I Burgundy Handbag I Sunglasses

I wore this outfit to do a little more sightseeing. This sweater can be worn off the shoulder, on the shoulder, on one shoulder, or as a cowlneck! It is also soooo incredibly soft! It comes in 7 colors and I ordered it in grey and blue after wearing it in Vegas!

The Proposal:

I kind of knew it was going to happen. Hate to say it, but I had definitely been putting the pressure on. I had to put my two month’s notice in at my apartment and refused to move into our new condo until I was engaged! He eventually had to tell me it was coming up soon and to be patient. This lead him to do some research on ways to get engaged in Vegas.

The week leading up to the trip my mind was going a million different ways. Countless sleepless nights wondering how in the world he was going to propose in Vegas. He is a super private person so I couldn’t see him doing it in front of anyone.

He had mentioned taking a helicopter ride out to Hoover Dam and not even thinking that could be how we got engaged I immediately shut it down. I have suuuper bad motion sickness. This brought him back to the drawing board.

We landed in Vegas, got some dinner, and he wanted to walk across the street to see the Bellagio light show. I thought, “Maybe he will just do it while the fountain show was going on?”

After the show ended I was a little angry wondering why hadn’t he just done it yet. Then I thought maybe it wasn’t going to happen this weekend after all and that just got me more angry/disappointed. He then made me walk all the way to the end of the fountain and then back. I was like what in the world is going on?! By that time I just wanted to get back to the hotel and sulk.

Then, he started pulling me toward a caricaturist. I stood there with my arms crossed saying absolutely not. He kept telling me it would be fun and we could hang it on our wall and I was like we are NOT hanging that on our wall. Basically, I was acting like a total B. This was so unlike him. Why did he want a caricature drawing?! I seriously thought he was just drunk at this point (he wasn’t.. he was just acting nervous).

While the guy was drawing us he was trying to make small talk and I just wasn’t having it. I kept telling Troy he must be drunk to be making us do this. After sitting there for 10 min or so the guy was like ok Im done, here it is.

As he turned it around, Troy was on one knee proposing.

Here is the photo I saw:

It turns out, Troy had planned the entire thing before hand and had sent our picture in to this caricaturist (who has been doing it for 40 years!) He had sent a photo in of when I had my hair super short and blonde last summer!

Needless to say, I was in total shock!! The Strip was busy, and everyone was around us clapping. I then took his hand and led him away so we could have some time to ourselves (after I said yes, of course). I then cried on and off all night as Troy was able to finally tell me all the reasons he wanted to marry me and all the thought and research that he had done to find a way to completely surprise me.

I wouldn’t have had it any other way because all I can remember after seeing him on one knee was that I couldn’t be happier.

…Now I just need to go back to Vegas and apologize to that caricaturist. He probably thinks I am a total witch haha!

Annnnnnd now I am engaged andddd will be living with Troy eeek! So crazy to me! Get ready for tons of wedding and home decor posts coming soon (probably in the new year)!

The Ring:

I am super minimal. I don’t like big logos on anything and I hardly wear ANY jewelry! He knew I wanted a solitaire with a plain platinum band and he did SO WELL!! PS.. my finger is super tiny (think like 3.5-3.75 in diameter to give you a better idea of the size!

To see photos of the ring, just follow my Instagram Story this week (click on my profile picture on Instagram to see the story.. make sure the newest version of Instagram is downloaded)!

xoxo Amanda
