ASOS Kimono Romper in Fall Floral Print

I hope you have enjoyed my New York Fashion Week series! I have enjoyed going over my week in New York as I get to re-live the excitement all over again! I cannot wait to go back (maybe even in February)! It was surreal for sure. The entire week was amazing, but the final day was definitely the most important for me due to two things: Instastyle Society AND rewardStyle.

Everyone dreams of going to Fashion Week so they can see what everyone is wearing, take lots of photos, and go to the fashion shows. This actually wasn’t the case for me. I enjoyed the shows, but ended up skipping tons of them. Actually meeting people and connecting with brands was much higher on my list of priorities.

On Sunday morning we all got dressed and headed to a brunch spot called Bluestone Lane. I loved this spot and seemed like it was a local hit. It was a small white diner with a white picket fence and white picnic tables and chairs. It is known for its avocado toast. It literally was just a bunch of avocado piled high on a piece of toast, but they added sunflower sprouts and some kind of sesame dressing on top. It was amazing! I also had a cappuccino (I don’t even like cappuccinos but they make for good photos) and everyone else got a coke- mainly because they gave them to you in an old school coke bottle with a straw.

After brunch we headed to Riviera Sports Bar. We couldn’t pass up on watching football JUST because we were in NYC. It was amazing. It was packed and there were tvs everywhere and people were yelling and screaming and going crazy.  My kind of sports bar! Oh, and did I mention they had Stella on draft, yes please?!

The main reason I was there though was to meet up with some girls in my Facebook group. I am one of the original members of the Facebook group InstaStyle Society. We are basically just a group of new bloggers that help and support each other every day. We immediately started a thread for everyone going to NYC for Fashion Week. It was surreal getting to meet them face to face. Most of the fashion bloggers I have met since I started have just been so kind! I would suggest, if you are in any kind of group, to reach out every time you are visiting a new town! You never know who in the group may live there. The InstaStyle group seriously keeps me sane! Among some of the amazing bloggers I got to meet at lunch were: The Double Take Girls, The Styled Wife, Style Me Twice, and Styled Blonde. I seriously love these girls so please make sure to check them out!

We all had to run home and prepare for the rewardStyle party. I think this was the event everyone was waiting for! My dress for the party will be on tomorrow’s post, when I cover all the tips and tricks for NYFW. I don’t even know what to really say about the party. We hung out on the rooftop of the Hotel Americano, the drinks were flowing, the DJ was amazing, and Nike ID was giving out complimentary tennis shoes! I got to meet so many amazing people. I am still trying to remember all the people I met. I am so excited that I now have relationships with most of the girls I met at that party and know I will have a really fun time with them next year. I got to meet Jillian Harris, who was gushing over my dress.. I couldn’t believe it, Paola Alberdi -blog is Blank Itinerary– (possibly my favorite person to follow on Instagram), and Amber Venz, the co-creator of rewardStyle (who is pregnant and still looks like she should be on the cover of Vogue). I also forgot to mention that I snapped a photo with Rachel Parcell earlier that week! I am definitely not one of those ‘I’m way to cool’ bloggers. I still get starstruck when I see these amazing women who have come so far and have done so much in fashion. Each of those gorgeous ladies inspire me to be so much better. They were also SUPER SWEET AND COOL. All in all it was definitely the highlight of my trip. I think just being up on that rooftop and in the same location of some of those incredible people made me feel extremely blessed.

After the party we HAD to go watch the Cowboys, of course! We went into the first sports bar and they werent even going to be showing the game. Did I mention it was Cowboys vs the NEW YORK Giants? So weird! We ended up finding a spot with like 4 other people in it and watched the game. Let’s just say Monday morning was prettttty rough. I am not used to partying like I did in New York (Gigi Boat Cruise, Vogue, Chocolate Bar, Reward Style). It was a lot!

Glad to be home, but CAN’T WAIT to go back! I definitely think I made some amazing new relationships. Make sure to come back tomorrow to read all the tips and tricks so that you can be there right next to me in February!

xoxo A
