Happy Wedding Wednesday guys!

Here are photos from our amazing wedding ceremony!

Our Wedding Ceremony at Silvertip Resort

We got married at the Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Canada.

Since we wanted an intimate wedding, we had to choose a place that would have the perfect space for around 60 people(68 was our final guest count).

We loved the Fairmont Banff Springs, but felt like the ballroom was way too large for the amount of people we would have in there and we would all be way too spread out. We also had to ensure a certain amount of rooms there in order to book the space, but we wanted our guests to be able to choose a place based on their own budgets/wants.

We LOVED Canmore, which is about 15 minutes outside of Banff, and we LOVED the Silvertip Resort! Next time we visit that area, we will be staying in Canmore again. It is much more laid back and not near as busy as Banff.

Our ceremony was held outside at a gazebo overlooking a golf course with the mountains and the city of Canmore in the backdrop. It was something out of a fairy tale.

Take 1

When you are a bride (or a groom) on your wedding day, you don’t really have time to pay attention to anything other than each other. Especially not the weather. To us, it appeared to be a beautiful, sunny day.

The first time I walked down the aisle Emmy cried the entire way. Her flower crown was slipping and her mom (also my photographer) ended up just taking it off as she was crying. She wasn’t happy about it at all.

Also, the band I hired to play at the reception also brought a piano to play ‘1,000 Years’ for my walk. She ended up SINGING IT! Like opera style singing it. I was so taken back while I was walking! Everyone was just looking around like what the heck?

I made it to the end of the aisle and not even two minutes went by before it just started POURING rain!

Everyone huddled into the gazebo or ran to their cars.

We sat in the gazebo and just tried to shelter ourselves from the rain (which was coming in sideways at this point) and just started laughing and talking. It was one of the most special moments of my life. My closest friends and family all together in that tight space on my wedding day. It is hard to explain. We almost had the ceremony right then and there, but the rain subsided and eventually stopped so we started the entire thing again.

I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Except by this point my hair was a complete mess and most of my guests were drenched, haha!

Take 2

Emmy made it down the aisle without a breakdown and the scenery was even more beautiful than ever with the misty glow of the rain! It didn’t rain again that day!

I also made sure to let the woman on the piano know that I preferred just the keyboard for the song.

Tip: Make sure whoever is playing at your wedding has specifics!

Decorations

Our florist, Wild Rose Events (who we brought from Dallas), did an incredible job designing the space!

She designed the floral garland that we hung around the gazebo and all of the floral ties on the chairs!! They were stunning!

I also included a close up of my bouquet and the geometric bouquet we did for the bridesmaids! I got the gold geometric bases at Amazon and she designed the arrangements inside. We later used these as centerpieces for the tables inside!

I rented these white lanterns that we put beside the chairs and we had candles inside and greenery spilling out of them. I loved it!
