The new trend for Spring: Culottes. What are culottes? As you know by now, everything is coming back in style! Culottes is a term women used to define an item of clothing that “hangs like a skirt, but is actually pants”.

They allowed women back in the mid-late 19th century to have a little more freedom around their legs and they wore them while gardening, riding horses, cleaning, etc. I love them! I think they look flattering on everyone. I really felt like I was in France about to jump on a yacht while wearing these. I kind of went back in time and didn’t really feel like I blended in with anyone in the area. This is what I always try to aim for! I never want to blend in! These culottes I am wearing here are especially classy because they are linen. They are PERFECT for the Spring or Summer! You can wear them with anything, but I wanted to keep going with the Parisian theme and wear stripes.

You may think these photos were actually taken in France near a chateau, but I actually took these right off a highway in the middle of Dallas, TX. For those of you who know the area, these pictures were taking on the outside of West Elm (facing highway 75). When my boyfriend and I are trying to find pictures, we just like to drive and drive and keep our eyes out. You can find so many gems like this that aren’t even hidden! You just have to keep your eyes open for possibilities! We always like to look for pretty trees, vines, cool colored walls, etc. You need to make your pictures different from others and stand out. No one really thinks of the background. The background of your images is VERY important! You need to make sure it is something people would want to look at again. You have to be careful not to lose your colors in the background and you need to make sure the theme of your outfit matches what you are shooting with. After you have the background picked out, be playful! This picture is a little more serious, but in my previous post I tried jumping around!
