Did you follow me and my friends this past weekend during our road trip to ACL? We all went to our first music festival and had so much fun together! The weather in Austin was perfect andddd we got to listen to some pretty great live music! We stayed at a house that looked like a massive treehouse that we booked through HomeAway.
I felt pretty out of my element clothing wise. It was super fun to shop for, but none of my clothes came in on time so I had to pick most of my stuff out last minute. I just kind of threw all my outfits together and hoped they worked! Next time I will be much more prepared!

Are you a festival person? Have you been to a big one like Austin City Limits? Read the tips below and make sure you book an apartment with HomeAway!
Austin City Limits
-Friday
On Friday, Lynlee and I woke up super early and headed down to Austin. It is a three hour drive that early in the morning but we had to stop for Starbucks and McDonalds!
Once we arrived in Austin we immediately went to the Boohoo pop-up on Guadalupe! I have been shopping at Boohoo for awhile but have never been to a physical store. They had a braid bar going on and some mini ice cream cones. I grabbed this amazing black kimono that I wore on day 1:

After Boohoo we went to a BuddyLove party. Have you ever shopped on their website? They have super cute game day stuff if you are looking for clothes to wear tailgating! They put glitter and jewels on my face and had an open bar… yes please!
Throughout the concert we got to go backstage with either HomeAway or Tito’s. I think having these passes were clutch. Both had snacks and drinks and we got to get off our feet. If you have the option to buy a package to get backstage somewhere you should take it! If not, make sure to bring an empty water bottle or canister (you can fill it up at the event) and chairs or a blanket so you can rest your legs.
Day 1 we mostly just walked around and explored. The only bands we really stopped to listen to were Foster the People and Jay-Z.
-Saturday

On Saturday we spent some time enjoying the house and went for a late lunch at Juliet’s. Our HomeAway house was walking distance from the festival (see more below) so we were able to walk to tons of restaurants either going to the festival or coming back. We definitely hit up P.Terry’s and Whataburger late night!
We spent most of our day Saturday backstage again, but made it out to watch Chance the Rapper and Red Hot Chili Peppers!
-Sunday
On Sunday I was completely festival’d out! Definitely not cut out for it anymore! I spent the day watching football and working at our HomeAway house! They had a stocked fridge for us and all the items we needed to prepare meals! It was so relaxing! The weather was perfect and the house has two different patios to sit out with a creek running behind it.
We also had brunch at Eberly, which was sooooo amazing. If you guys go, make sure to get their biscuits and gravy!!!
Road Trip
We loved road tripping because it was great to have our own car! We were able to drive to all of our events without waiting for an Uber or Lyft (and without having to pay for it $$.)
It was also just fun to be with Lynlee for four ours without anything else to distract us. Road trips are great for that reason. You just get to talk and laugh with your friends. Next time you have the chance to take a road trip instead of fly take it! You can’t put a price on that kind of time together!
HomeAway
Our house in Austin was BEAUTIFUL! I felt like I was in a giant treehouse (with AC and a turndown service haha!)
We booked the home through HomeAway because we had such great luck with our house in Palm Springs. Both houses were amazing in different ways!
In Austin, we each had our own bedroom AND bathroom! We gave Lynlee the amazing master suite because she planned this entire thing for us! The kitchen was massive so we cooked and ate in there on Saturday morning. Our favorite place to hang out was the living room. I wish it was cold enough to turn on the fireplace.
I could go on and on about this house. Our favorite thing was the turn down service. Usually when you book an apartment instead of a hotel you have to go all week with the towels and sheets you have. And you have to be clean. At this house we had a maid service come every day! It was amazing! Every night when we got back from the festival our beds were made and we had fresh towels!
You can book this specific house HERE.
Make sure to book HomeAway for your next trip!

Looks like such a fun trip! The house you stayed is a dream. I love a good road trip, they are so refreshing, I recently headed to update New York to hike and see the changing leaves, it was perfection. Thanks for sharing!
