Gorgeous photos (as always!) I wear green so often that I just need both of these dresses. Also, Christina has me feeling inspired to take on an all burgundy outfit : ) Thanks for sharing!! Happy thanksgiving, ladies! <3

Who all has a ‘Friendsgiving’ every year?

This was maybe my second time to ever do it and I had such a blast!

Today’s post is all about 1. What to wear on Thanksgiving 2. Fav Recipes 3. Host Gifts and 4. Tablescaping

1. What to Wear on Thanksgiving

As you can see from photos above, we all wore something comfy and cozy. We do not have super a super dressy Thanksgiving tradition, so we pulled from different sweaters and dresses for the evening.

-My Look: I wore this amazing bell-sleeved olive sweater from Nordstrom! It is less than $50 and comes in some really beautiful Fall colors. Please remember that I am 5’11 so it may be a little longer on you as well! I think it is the PERFECT dress for Thanksgiving!

I paired it with some slouchy boots and a leopard scarf (not shown here) and I took the scarf off when I got inside (it’s all about that first impression ;))

-Christina, Fashion and Frills, is always the dressiest out of all of us (see latest posts here and here). We hardly ever see her in jeans!

For Friendsgiving, Christina was decked out in this seasons hottest color: burgundy.

-Lynlee, Gal About Town, is wearing the cutest fringe vest and a white bell-sleeved dress. I love the camel and white together! I also need the boots she is wearing stat!

I love how she made a dress more casual with the boots!

-Natalie, The Fashion Hour, is always sooo stinking cute! I love this button up skirt and the striped top she paired it with!

I think the grey booties complete the look. You just can’t beat the navy-grey combo! She is also so great with jewelry (something I need help with) and made the tee shirt even cute with this arrow necklace!

-Brooke, One Small Blonde, looks the coziest! I love the off the shoulder sweater and it was so soft to the touch! She paired this casual look with some skinny jeans and OTK boots!

-Jaime, The Real Fashionista, also wore a green sweater dress, like mine, but hers had an asymmetrical hem (which I lovedddd). If you like midi dresses more than ones above your knee, definitely go with this one!

She threw on a fringe scarf that comes in tons of colors! It is nice and light so you wont get too hot inside with it on!

2. Thanksgiving Host Gifts

You should ALWAYS bring a gift for the host (even if it is your parents). My mom loves getting candles, but I am trying to mix it up a little.

This year, I am headed back to Omaha, so I need to bring a perfect host gift for Troy’s mom and dad!

Here are some amazing host gifts (shown in photos above), and all are at GREAT prices!

3. Thanksgiving Tablescape

I had NOTHING to do with this tablescape.. I am just not good at things like that haha! I am NO Martha Stewart by any means.

Brooke put this tablescape together and I thought it was so perfectly chic for our Friendsgiving!

Here are some items, or some similar items if you would like to re-create the look:

4. My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

OK… so I am by no means a chef. Troy and I recently started Blue Apron so I am getting a little better but still at a beginner level.

I am always in charge of the green bean casserole for Thanksgiving (Thank God). It is so easy!

I seriously just go off the recipe on the back of French’s crispy onions container haha! Shhh don’t tell anyone! I always get so many compliments on it!

Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

1 can (10 1/2 oz.) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 tsp. black pepper
4 cups cooked cut green beans or 2 cans (14.5oz each) any style Del Monte® Green Beans, drained
1 1/3 cups FRENCH’S® Crispy Fried Onions

Directions

MIX soup, milk and pepper in a 1 1/2 -qt. baking dish. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup Crispy Fried Onions.
BAKE at 350°F for 30 min. or until hot. Stir.
TOP with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 min. until onions are golden.

I also did a salad this year for Friendsgiving, but probably won’t again. My friends were like, ‘Why would we touch that salad when we have all this unhealthy stuff in front of us to eat?”

If you do love salad, here is a super simple but delicious recipe:

Poppy Seed Salad

Container of Spinach (however much you need for your # of people)

1 Gala Apple (bc I love sweet apples)

1 bag of dried cranberries

1 bag walnuts (plain or honey roasted yumm)

Poppy seed dressing (sold at most grocery stores)

THAT’S IT!

Dice the apple and add desired amount of everything into the salad. I would suggest using a ladle for the dressing. A little goes a long way with poppy seed dressing.

-you can substitute the apple for blueberries or strawberries as well!

Check out the other girls blogs to see what they brought and to grab more recipes!

I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving! I hope you now know what to wear on Thanksgiving, what to bring the host, how to decorate, and how to make green bean casserole! I would love to know where you will be for Thanksgiving, so leave a comment below!!! xoxo Amanda
