So this post is going to be nice and short… and informative! On Friday night I got invited to go to a Vogue party <3. How in the world did they find my email, how in the world did someone so new and with only 29k Instagram followers get invited? Easy, I signed up for a Fohr Card.

Friday, after all of our amazing showroom appointments (if you didn’t catch those look here), we took all of our new (rented) dresses and headed back to the hotel. I only picked out two things all day, one from Redlight PR’s showroom and one from Now + Zen’s showroom.
The Hemant & Nandita dress from Porte Mode dress was AMAZING, but I didn’t have any shoes to match it and we didn’t have time for any shopping. This Lumier by Bariano dress turned out to be PERFECT, since the party was hosted by White House Black Market! I had no idea, I just got lucky!! Everyone at the party was in black and white!
The Vogue party was so chic and classy. You can view all the photos on Instagram by looking at #theretreat. It was held in a bar called Salon and I think everyone in there was either famous, rich, or a model. Everywhere we turned there was another beautiful face! It was open bar and I got to meet some really great people. The one thing I read before going to New York Fashion Week was to be social, not #social. So I tried to keep my phone down and focus on people around me. Everyone has a story, and usually it is much more interesting than mine!
Go ahead and sign up for a Fohr Card. It keeps track of all of your analytics for you in one place, and brands use it as a media kit. It is pretty fun because your card gets ranked, so you can work on your score by improving your social reach and your blog reach. It also shows you who all views your card. Vogue viewed my card the night before I received an email from them! It is just a great way for brands to connect, and who doesn’t love that? As an added bonus, you can also reach out to your favorite brands!
What I missed: I skipped two fashion shows that night. Zang Toi and Chromat (they were scheduled at the same time at different places). Both were amazing, I am sure, but I was having way too much fun hanging out and making connections at the Vogue party. I would have had to leave the party 30 minutes after I arrived.
